Utrecht University is a public institution that is located in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1636 and has about 30,000 students. Choosing your program
The first thing you will have to do is go through the institution course catalog to find out if they have the program you are interested in. Once you are able to find the program of your choice, before enrolment, make sure you meet the entry requirements. You can read more information on the entry requirements page. Go through it to know whether you are eligible for the chosen course or not. Another thing to note is check whether the program is selective or limited. If it is, you will have to be selected for it.
Check programs deadline
Every program at Utrecht University has an application deadline. This deadline is usually on the application page. Some of the factors affecting it are the type of program you are applying for, and possession a student visa or residence permit. All the deadlines usually expire at midnight (Central European Time) on the stated dates. You will have to complete all the application processes such as submitting your documents and paying application fees before then.
It is advisable to apply earlier so that there would be enough time for you to get any required help. Always check the deadline of your program to be on a safe side.
The documents expected from you vary due to the program you have chosen. However, some of the required and expected ones are National ID Card, Previous certificates, Proven English & Dutch proficiency. The proof of language you will be expected to submit depends on the language of the program you choose. The certificate you submit must show evidence that you meet the requirements of the program you have chosen. The website will inform you if you need to submit additional documents.
Every document submitted must be in English or Dutch except the website states otherwise. If it is not, you will have to arrange for it to be translated by a certified translator.
You will have to submit your application via Studielink. It is a website useful for students to enrol Dutch universities. To begin enrolling at Utrecht University, you need to start a request in Studielink. If you live in the Netherlands, you will have to use your DigiD. You will have to create a new account to proceed from there, if you do not live there.
Pay Application fee
Once you have submitted the enrollment request, you will receive your login details and other necessary instructions via email. You will use this for the OSIRIS online application. Fill the form and upload the necessary documents. Make sure your documents are in PDF format with a maximum file size of 2 MB.
Once your documents have been uploaded, you will have to pay 100 Euros as an application fee or request for an exemption. There can only be exemptions for specific cases. You can go back to their Application fee to find out if an exemption applies to you. If it does, you may then submit without paying. However, you can complete the application process without paying, with exemption.
