Seneca was established by the Canadian government in 1967 as a leading college in applied arts and technology, in response to the growing need for practical learning and use of modern technology. The institution is open to eligible candidates from across the globe irrespective of race, creed or gender. Seneca offers about 145 full-time programs, 135 part-time programs, 14 bachelor degrees and 30 graduate certificates.The institution has over 70 transfer agreements with schools and countries like the US, England, Australia and South Africa. Over 3,500 international students from about 113 countries attend Seneca, and 8,000 or more students graduated from the institution in 2011/2012 alone. Around 93% of companies gave satisfactory remarks on their Seneca-graduate employees.
Seneca campuses are located in major cities such as the City of Toronto, York region, Markham, York university, King City and North Toronto. In all, the institution has 10 well-equipped and specialized campuses.

General Language Proficiency for all Students
Prospective candidates should prepare to receive lectures in the English language. If your country doesn’t take English as a primary language, then the following is required:
- Candidates must have completed at least 2 years full-time study in a country where English is the primary language.
- Submission of test scores of TOEFL, IELTS and PTE Academic.
- Candidates can choose to enroll and complete an English preparatory program offered at Seneca.
Admission to a Diploma (2 years) or Advance Diploma (3 years) Program
- Prospective students must fill the International Application Form
- Must pay application fee of $65 CAD which is non-refundable.
- Must attach transcripts from high school showing all subjects required.
- International English test scores:
TOEFL score, minimum of 550(paper based test), or 80 for internet based test;
IELTS score, of at least6.0;
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) score is set at 58.
Admission to a Degree (4 years) Program
- Fill the international application form
- A non-refundable $65 CAD application fee
- High school-issued transcripts for grades 10, 11 and 12
- Any post-secondary transcripts if applicable
- International English Test Scores:
TOEFL score with a minimum of 570 (paper based test), or 84 for internet based test;
IELTS Academic requires a minimum test score of 6.5 with no single test below 21;
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) scores of about 60.
Admission to a Post-graduate (1 year) Program
- International application form
- Non-refundable application fee of $65 CAD.
- Transcripts for all years in university.
- International English language test scores:
Minimum of 580 score on TOEFL (paper based test), or 88 for internet based test score;
IELTS Academic with an overall minimum score of 6.5;
PTE Academic (Pearson Test on English) score 60.
Students who make late payments may lose their admission reservation. Seneca has many qualified prospective students on waiting lists, and they are offered admission if an applicant delays the payment of fees.
At Seneca, students need to buy books for each available course. The various courses determine the cost and number of books applicants are to buy.

REFUND AND DEFERRAL POLICY
The Immigration office may deny a prospective student study permit. In this case, the applicant should file a report to the International Admissions Office within 10 business days of the beginning of a semester. Seneca would refund one semester fee less $200, and future semesters paid in advance would be refunded in full.

Students may decide to go through independent educational agents and be charged a consulting feewhich may go above the stipulated $65.00 required by Seneca. This happens at the discretion of the agencies involved. Seneca does not charge above the stated $65.00, and asks all registered agenciesto not charge extra fees from clients.
