Admission requirements

The University of Texas has a wide variety of study programs for undergraduates covering over 170 areas of study as well as over 100 graduate areas of study offered. Applicants are to Pay the non-refundable $75 fee and $90 for international applicants when you submit your apply Texas application.

Undergraduate Admission;

All applicants for undergraduate admission must meet the following conditions:

  • Must have graduated from high Schoolor be about to do so.
  • Must not have appliedin another college or institute after graduating from high school or after receiving a GED.

In addition, applicants from Texas who believe they are eligible for automatic admission must meet the high school coursework required, as stated in the State’s uniform admission policy or be about to do so. No applicant is exempted from the University’s minimum requirements of four units in language art, three units from Mathematics at Algebra level or higher, two units of a foreign language, two of science, three of social studies, one and one-half of electives and one-half of fine/visual arts.

Masters Admission

Applicants with degree from a regional institution in the United States or an equivalent degree from an international academic institution can apply. The Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) will decide on eligibility for admission in consultation with intended graduate programs.

A grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 at-least in upper-division (both junior and senior) coursework and in any graduate work that has been completed.

The original scores result from the Graduate Record Examinations General Test (GRE) will be required, unless the graduate program applied for, states otherwise. The McCombs School of Business requires that the master’s degree applicants submit a satisfactory score on either G.R.E or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

Doctoral Admission

The McCombs School of business requires that doctoral degree applicants submit a score that’s satisfactory on either the G.R.E or the G.M.A.T. also required is a recommendation for acceptance from the graduate studies committee for the intended graduate program.

International admission

Applicants from foreign countries must submit, an application for admission, with two essays; an official transcript of previous school work; a standardized test scores whenever required; either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores; also, proof of sufficient financial support while studying in the University will be required and the application processing fee, which isn’t refundable. Also, other documents may be required based on the program the applicant intends to apply for.

Other basic Requirements

All applicants are advised to apply early, for enrollment time they prefer. This allows for enough time to complete it before admission deadlines.
