The University of Adelaide is a government owned university located in Southern Australia and is one of the oldest universities in Australia.

It was foundedin the year 1874, but teaching did not start until 1876. Its first official lecture was in Latin. A total of four campuses are in the University, and they are, North terrace, Waithe, Thebarton and Roseworthy.

The main campus is North Terrace. The university library has an electronic database consisting of millions of journal articles. The state art gallery and museum add to a number of attractions in the school environment.

What is the Admission procedure?

Admissions are available forboth domestic students and to international students. Options such as offshore programmes and pathway programs are also available.

Aspiring students are to choose their field of study and check if they meet their requirements.

A SATAC application form should be filled and submitted. Admission offers would be emailed to successful applicants.

For international students

The first step is to choose the course of study, after which the prospective student checks for the programs minimum requirements which include but are not restricted to English tests accepted by the University of Adelaide such as IELTS,TOEFL, Pearson’s and Cambridge with a minimum of overall scores of 6,70,50, and 169 respectively.

Other academic requirements such as the international ATAR, international Baccalaureate,and GCE must be met. Applicants should bear in mind that the academic requirements differ according course selection.

All applications should be submitted before their respective deadlines. Applicants that want to apply for scholarships are to do so at least 8 weeks to the closure of the school scholarship and would be required to complete a scholarship application form to that effect.

In the case of a conditional offer, all conditions must be met prior to offer acceptance.

Offer statement and acceptance agreement: Complete the offer statement form and sign and date whereas instructed.

Payment of fees

Payment to the university can be done through the following channels: Western union, Business solutions, bank transfers, credit cards and debit cards. Prospective students are encouraged to review the school’s policy on refunds and adjustments.

Tuition fees

Tuition fees are charged according to the number of units being done in an academic session. The number of units and their corresponding tuition fees are as follows:

Tuition fees 2017 9 units- $9000

Tuition fees 2017- $12000

Estimated living expenses $6000 – $8000

Overseas student health cover (OSHC) – $360- $380

Total $15,360-$20,380

A budget of about $400 should be made per semester. This would be for the purchase of textbooks and other materials such as lab coats and for going on field trips and other outings.
